Back to week 2: My Hometown

So not long after the last post, my daughters and I decided we were bored and went for a ride throughout Atchison. And what perfect timing to get my photos of where I grew up! It was a nice little adventure out and it made me reminisce about the days I used to just go driving throughout town when I was bored. I know this town like the back of my hand. I mean, I have spent almost 25 years here! Anyways, we drove to all the places that I think of when I think of Atchison, KS, and we even went to a place I never actually gotten out to see up close! So here is our adventure through town.

First thing that comes to mind is Lake Warnock. I have spent many of days out here wondering, playing at the play grounds, taking my dog for a little jog, fishing, school field trips, picnics and parties, and the list goes on. It's the perfect place for a family outing, or just by yourself even. I like to think of it as relaxing and peaceful. =)

The next thing I think of is the Missouri River and the Amelia Earhart Bridge of course. What is Atchison without these two things? And as I said before, the bridge shall soon be gone. But a better and safer one will take it's place and I'm anxious to see the final product!

Speaking of Amelia Earhart...
This is her home. A lot of times I think of old homes like these when I think of Atchison too. There are so many beautiful homes here! If you have never been to Atchison and are a little touristy you should come take a trolly ride and tour some of these gorgeous homes

And what is Atchison without MGP and brick roads?

These last set of photos are of my new favorite place! I have wanted to go down there for awhile but never actually did it. And now I can't wait to suggest this location for a photo session! Who's up for some trains? Anyone?

And as we are walking around I spotted the largest dandelion blower I have ever seen. Don't judge that is what I've always called them. =)
