Week 1: Free For All

So we took a little trip to a local lake here in Atchison while we had some sun and nice weather for once this week. We took my girls, and the hunting dogs and played at the park there and had a nice day in the sunshine. Of course I took my camera and I decided to use this adventure as my week 1 since it is kind of a do what you want kind of thing this week....

Remember this little guy? This is boomer, who I posted quite a few months ago of joining the family. He has sure grown! He is such a funny dog and still in the puppy stage where everything is fascinating to him!

Ahhh....sweet sunshine! I've been missing this with all the rain we've had the past couple weeks. I think everyone needs a little sunshine everyday...but unfortunately mother nature has other plans =(
It took me forever to get the above shot. My camera would not let me focus on the clouds and somehow finally I was able to snap the clouds in between the grates of the playground set.
And I leave you with the flower my daughter gave me. A lot of times we see these clovers and think nothing of them. They aren't anything special and we see them everywhere all the time. But kids see the beauty in them and it's just something special when they bring you one and say, "mommy, I picked you a flower!" =)

52 Weeks of Awesomeness!

I have contemplated this for awhile and I have seen some fellow photographers do this as well. I have decided to participate in the 52 weeks of awesomeness! Every week I will have new criteria to follow on a certain subject matter and take photos of it. I figured nothing better to do with my summer now that my classes are done for awhile. Plus it will help with school and portfolios and all that good stuff later on! I think the most important thing is getting back to being creative as I can with these projects and expanding my skills and comfort zones. The best part is that I'm going to share it with all of you! So be looking forward to my posts every week for the next 52 weeks (and hopefully I will keep up with it too!).  First weeks subject is: Free for All....so I get to post whatever I like which I haven't decided what yet...but it should be coming soon! Stay posted! =)

Sumpter Wedding

This past weekend my brother-in-law finally tied the knot! It had been a long time coming and we are happy for the newlyweds and for his wife to be joining the family! Although my daughter's would say it was a very loooong weekend, but we definitely had fun (esp with family from out of town)! It was so nice to see everyone and I was so excited to take some photos of another wedding! Be prepared because this post could get rather long =)!

Yup, those are my babies....and of course once they got a hold of those balloons they wouldn't let them go.....someday they will cooperate when mommy wants a photo! (I hope!)

Ok, enough showing off my girlies =).....Onto the actual wedding

This little lady (the junior bride) was soooo incredibly sweet!

The bride's oldest son hamming it up!

They surprised the moms with flowers, my mother-in-law was on the other side but she said she lost it! tee hee....I love how some people get so mushy with weddings =)

....and their first official kiss! I love this moment!

The next series of shots I can not get over how beautiful she looks! I mean seriously!?

^ ^ ^ ^ My personal fav! ^ ^ ^ ^

And this one just melts my heart! =)

And onto the reception.....check out these awesome toasting glasses! I want a pair!

I'm a stickler for details and decorations if you couldn't already guess. If I wasn't a photographer I would almost be willing to go into being a wedding planner....or at least decorate parties for a living!

My brother-in-law loved the champagne as you can tell....hehe
I love brides reaction during the garter toss...or the garter fishing rather ;)

And that is all I have to show or we would be here all day! But I want to say thanks to Jeremy and Niki for sharing our day and Congratulations! We hope your years are filled with love and joy!

Family Photos at Forrest of Friendship

About a month ago I did the Frad family's photos. This is actually the session we attempted to do in the snow a few months ago. If you remember (or scroll down the blog) there was only one photo that came out of that day. But in came spring and we finally got out to take care of this family! These guys actually take care of my two kiddos when I need them two so of course it was natural for me to take care of them as well the best way I know how!

Can't help but smile over this brotherly love! =)

And then they were on the move!
This little man is such a hoot! I don't think I've ever seen one child bounce like a little Tigger so much in my life! He is a busy boy for sure!

And I will leave you with one of my favorites. There isn't anything like a mothers love!

Thanks Frad family for letting me share these with you. Looking forward to the next time and watching the boys grow!
